An 8-year-old sorrel horse with a splendid morphological model and considerable competitive depth, capable of adapting to all tracks and any type of distance, he immediately made himself known at the age of two for his remarkable engine, placing fourth in the final of the GRAN CRITERIUM in Milan.
After a competitive rest, at the age of 3 he improves his career record bringing it to 1.14.1 and at the age of 4 he changes gears and begins to show off his racing value even more by taking third place in the GP BACCO (Gr3) in Taranto and going on to win the PRIX PARIS TURF in Cagnes sur mer by making 1.14.3 on 2700 meters.
After the usual winter rest the horse has reached its full maturity and the decision is made to send the horse to France to the court of Jean Michel Bazire, where he will show all his potential by winning on all tracks starting from the Vincennes black , running and winning left and right hand, starting with ribbons and with autostart, from 2100 meters to 3475 meters, setting his own record on the double kilometer of 1.11.4..
After an easy victory in Enghien over 2,875 meters and three running-in races with three placements, Valzer di Poggio finds his best set-up by lining up 11 consecutive successes in 10 different racecourses thus becoming the Italian horse with the most consecutive victories in foreign lands and the foreign horse with the most victories on French soil. After an inconvenience had in the qualification of the PRIX D’AMERIQUE he returns by winning the PRIX HERSILIE and obtaining again a second place in the PRIX DE LA COTE D’AZUR (Gr3). The horse is still in competitive activity.
PRODUCTION
Valzer di Poggio is in his first season as a breeder, after having ridden “privately” in 2021 for the Il Poggio farm. He enters the breed accompanied by a brilliant career and a first-class genealogy which sees from the paternal branch the great LOVE YOU – who is very reminiscent both in terms of morphology and character – and the dam Glory di Poggio from VIKING KRONOS for an exceptional bloodline which sees as second mother Alpaca OM who carries the blood of ZEBU (father of Ialmaz, mother of the great Varenne) heir of the fundamental SHARIF OF JESOLO.
